SFP Book

SFP Book

Description

As you can see from some of the pictures here, we have a LOT of SFP modules at work and storing them was definitely becoming a problem. A few months ago I had printed out an SFP storage tray that I found on here, but quickly realized the problem with it was that you couldn't see the sides of the modules when they were in the tray so to find the one you needed you had to go through and pull each one out and look at it. I was thinking about how to organize them in a way more accessible and came up with this design. Each "Page" of the book holds 10 SFP modules (8 for a QSFP page) and they fit in their slots quite tightly. You can see in one of the pictures that they generally will stay in there even with the "page" upside down. Be warned due to variations in the size and such of SFP modules, some will not fit tightly and CAN fall out. If one of the SFP's is stuck in the slot, you can put your finger in the slot under the connector end and push it out. To bolt the pages together into a book you will need 2 x 30mm long M3 cap head screws and 2 x M3 nuts. Place a nut into the hexagonal recess and then run the bolt through the barrels to hold it altogether.
