[SCAD] Painter/Broomstick connector for DIY extension pole
Description
Scad file for customizing a connector with broomstick/painters pole threading to some other pole. Consist of three contiguous sections: * The female thread end. Not much to customize, other than the thickness of the walls. The default model from eric_csuf is a bit thin, so I added a parameter to beef it up if desired. * The "condom" piece where you are expected to stick a pole in it. There are zip tie holes if you choose to use it by securing a zip tie thru the holes and thru the pole/stick for extra rigidity. You can use set screws too. Be creative in your applications :) * The "transition" cone section. This offers a smooth transition between the threading section and the "condom" section for aesthetics and rigidity. The length is customizable. You can combine this with eric_csuf https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3617268 for the male threading counterparts. I did not have to customize it, so I will not include that in this thingy. It's hooked up to customizer on thingiverse, so play around with the parameters to your heart's desire. Files: * Scad file * eric_csuf's original female end STL model. It had a broken unclosed mesh, and I repaired it in Microsoft 3D Builder in order for it to interop in OpenSCAD successfully. Put this in the same folder as the scad file if you want to edit the scad in OpenScad, since it performs an import on the original STL. * Example output STL from openscad with 22mm inner diameter. This fits Dollar Tree broom sticks perfectly (with a tiny bit of slack of < 0.5mm to account for printer variance. You can shim in some card board or zip tie it).
