Yaesu VX-8DR Case
Description
I have a created a model of a tectical style case for a Ham Radio HT the Yaesu VX-8DR. It is modeled to fit the radio with the OEM standard size battery, with the battery clip on it. But obviously will fit and retain the radio if you take the battery clip off. My intent is to wear the radio on my belt and the model has two holes that line up with Safariland Equipment Locking System. But very likely the holes probably line up with a TEK LOK and other products. Links to this stuff is at the buttom. The radio fits snuggly and is retained by friction between the case and the rubber overmold on the HT. I used Overture PLA to print out my units. I can shake the case with the radio in it and it not fall out. If you are running or doing extreme activities I would run some shock cord through your belt or something to retain, but again my radio is staying in place. Your mileage will vary. There is a cut out in the back so you can keep the belt clip on and inplace. There is a cut out on the right side so you can use a plugged in ear buds. There is a cut out on the left side so you can access the buttons. There is a cut out in front of the speaker to with audio transmission. There is a drain port on the bottom too. ---- I may post an update at some point with an additional version with a hole to afix shock cord to the case. But if I do it'll be later on. Any additional ideas/features you would like or I missed let me know. Safariland ELS - https://safariland.com/products/equipment-locking-system-kit-32184/ Amazon has this stuff too. I use black Malice Clips as the belt loop. https://www.amazon.com/Tactical-Tailor-Malice-Clips-Coyote/dp/B011AC7ACW/
