LiFePO4 Terminal / Busbar Cover, Strengthened & Improved
Description
This is a quick remix of a terminal cover set for most 280-310Ah LiFePO4 Prismatic Cells. The original files for the busbars were well designed but unfortunately quite weak and so would consistently split apart when I tried to snap them in place. In addition, the main terminal covers had nothing to hold them in place other than the battery cables if they fit tightly. So I made some very simple and not-very-polished adjustments and am happy with the result. The busbar covers have been significantly thickened and reinforced, making them fit very securely and almost impossible to break. For the main terminal covers, I had the idea of adding an outline of the M6 nut so that at least there's a reference point for the cover to sit on, even if the fitment isn't perfectly tight. In practice this works good enough. Hopefully this is helpful to someone who's looking to reduce the odds of absolute catastrophe while working in the vicinity of these cells. :) You may notice a couple other 3D printed parts in the last picture. One is a faceplate / enclosure for a shunt-based battery monitor, and the other is an interlocking framing system for the cells themselves. I have designed both of these and will be posting them here soon, along with a couple other related things. The cell frames are very much a work in progress, and the ultimate goal is to design a full-featured, modular ecosystem with integrated terminal covers, handles, and cell compression. Thanks for looking and enjoy! (Below are some other photos within the same project)
