Vase Mode Vixen Solar Finder

Vase Mode Vixen Solar Finder

Description

This solar finder fits a Vixen finder bracket mini dovetail. It has two modes of operation. The first is centering the spot of light falling on a thin rear screen. The second method is by making self-shadow of the exterior hourglass shape concentric and even. It is indented to be printed in vase mode, with thick extra thick walls and a thin concentric first layer. Use a light colored filament to allow the spot of sun light to glow through the thin first layer. The first layer height should be thin enough to allow light the glow though but thick enough to be strong. A concentric bottom layer fill will give a naturally centered reticule. If the first layer gets damaged or breaks off you could glue on a piece of paper in its place. Obviously the thin vase wall is fragile, so only use light clamping force on the dovetail bolt PLA will get soft in fuller summer sun. Never look at the sun though an unfiltered telescope.
