Team 7501 VH-109 radio bracket

Description

Team 7501's radio mount design for the 2024 FRC world championships. For any teams who missed the blog posts and announcements, the FRC world championship will be using a new radio module this season. Since many teams, including our own, use 3D printed radio mounts, there will be a number of teams who will need a new radio mount on their robot for the competition. Additionally, for any teams who arrive at worlds unaware of the radio change, we will have a number of these mounts printed out to share with teams in need. Teams are welcome and encouraged to print, use, and share this design however they would like. This design uses two identical parts per radio that secure it from either side. The holes are sized for 10-24, 10-32, or M5 mounting screws, however smaller screws should be perfectly fine as long as the head is larger than the hole (or if a washer is placed under the screw head). The two part design is intended to reduce material usage, provide full clamping to prevent the radio from bouncing out, and to allow for proper cooling airflow as this radio is expected to generate more heat than the previous FRC standard radio. Additionally, these mounts hold the radio directly onto the robot exterior, allowing teams to have thermal contact to the chassis for improved heat dissipation. Disclaimer, team 7501 does not have access to a radio to test this design with, nor will we have one before we arrive at Worlds. Therefore we cannot guarantee that the design will work as intended until we have tested it with the actual modules at worlds. However, if there are problems with our design, we will update it as quickly as possible at the event for teams to print on site.
