Pipe Enclosure Spooler Support
Description
Pipe Enclosure Spooler Support Moved the spooler from the printer mounted frame to the back wall of the heat resistant enclosure. This takes the weight of the spools off the printer frame. Reducing the motion pull on the printer arms. Keeping the spools inside the enclosure. The weight of those spools on the printer frame can cause movement of the head during acceleration. Creating failures such as head strikes or gaps. Getting them off the printer frame and onto the enclosure frame was the easiest change. Keeping the spools inside the enclosure reduces moisture absorption and pull length. No need for additional pullies or guides as it feeds directly into the filament break sensor. For the Spool Support it will depend on the pipe size used as to the best fit for the pieces. This one is designed for a 17.2mm OD pipe of the enclosure with a cross pipe of 15.2mm OD. Prefer to use an Aluminum/PU pipe for extra support and strength, though that isn't required. I used some spare support pipe cut to the proper length. The included pipe can be used if set to the proper length as well. PLA or better works as there isn't a lot of pressure on this pipe. Just need to make sure the end pipes are extended/shortened to the correct distance between the enclosure support pipes. Depending on witch way the pipes will run as to how long they need to be. For my installation the top support pipe was used and a second horizontal pipe was added. The included set screw can also be used, again with less strength. I used M5*8 screws to push through the threads for a better hold. They were a tight fit that secured the pipe in place and prevented movement. Included are the zip copies of the OBJ files. Not everyone's setup is the same as mine so some adjustments may need to be made. The sensor mount I used was "Ender 3 S1 Filament Sensor Mount / Holder by pakkko" on Thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5183896 This worked well as it clipped onto the top printer frame for the sensor to mount on.
