Vernier Smart Cart Replacement Parts
Description
The plunger cap on the end of the Vernier Smart Cart sometimes comes loose and falls off. If you call Vernier, they will most likely send you a replacement part in the mail right away. The parts still sometimes fall off and get lost - so, here is a printable version of the same piece. Note that the plunger on the cap is a standard right-hand thread. And, when you turn the whole plunger counter-clockwise, it moves a pre-tensioning nut that changes the K-value of the spring. You want the cap to be very tight. A dab of super glue or locktite will typically do the trick. The second part is a replacement for the rubber bumper that can be attached to the force probe end. I suggest printing this out of TPU, but it can also be done in PLA or PETG. The collision impulse is just shorter in time.
