Lightweight Model Rocket for 18mm Motors
Description
Flying model rocket for 18mm motors. Very leightweight and sleek desing for typical 18mm Motors. Mainly designed and tested for A-Motors, outer diameter is just 20mm and printed weight is 27g. I made a simple 11 inch diameter parachute out of a very leightweight plastic bag (garbage bag) with 6 shock cords made out of thin thread. Dry flying weight w/o motor is 30g, which is very leightweight and gives great altitude. Model has been flight tested on A6-4 Motors. Feed a shock cord (preferrably aramid cord) through the hole in the body and tie a knot on the outside. Tie the other end to the nose cone. Install the parachute or a streamer close to the nose cone and you are good to go. Launch rod is a standard 3mm wire. The motor is friction fit, you might apply a layer of tape to the motor for a firm fit. Works well and is as simple as it can be.
