Pegs - Customizable Pegboard Mounting System
Description
Pegs is a mounting system for a variety of bins/hooks/etc, meant to work with standard Pegboard. It is designed to be printed with no supports, and to be strong even when printed with PLA. ## How does it work? The "Peg Mount" prints as a flat piece. After it prints, you fold it in half, and fit it into your pegboard. Then you slide bin, hook, or other creation down over the mount to have it securely hang from the pegboard. ## Do you need a different sized hook/bin/etc? Use the Thingiverse Customizer or OpenSCAD, choose the part you want to generate, then customize its settings. You can change sizes, add dividers, change gaps, and a lot more. You can even modify how many mounting points larger containers will have. There's a ton of settings available. ## What if things aren't fitting? All printers have different tolerances. You can use the Customizer to adjust those. Most tolerance changes will impact the "Peg Mount" piece, not the bins, so if you have to adjust the fit, you don't need to reprint all your bins. For my printer which I made these for, the peg fit snugly into my pegboard with some light force, and the mounting connections are very snug at the end to avoid them being easily bumped off. ## Can I mount something else not included? You sure can! There is a "Mount Cutout" option in the OpenSCAD file and in Thingiverse Customizer. You can generate a "cutout" piece, to subtract from your own models, to add a slot. If you do make anything, please share! ## Does this look familiar? This entire concept is base off of Sy's pegboard system: https://www.printables.com/model/249871-sys-peglock-locking-pegboard-system I wanted to make a bunch of customer containers and such that worked with the system, but it was in a platform I don't prefer. So I went ahead and, as a fun project, remade the concept from the ground up. I can't say if all my "improvements" beat the original, so be sure to check out his work!
