Focus Retainer Ring for Caddx Vista / DJI Air Unit
Description
Replacing a broken lens on a Caddx Vista or DJI Air Unit requires to dissolve or melt the factory applied glue from the old lens. This glue of course acts as threadlocker to prevent an unintended focus change. Online repair tutorials will tell you to apply superglue on the new lens but this may lead to making it hard or impossible to remove the new lens later on. Also, there is a non-negligible risk of superglue fumes getting inside the camera housing and fogging up the sensor. When printed from TPU this lens retainer ring acts as a flexible washer and it has the right thickness to keep the lens from rotating without using any glue. I created three versions with different thicknesses: 1.2mm, 1.4mm and 1.6mm. For my camera 1.4mm works perfect. Make sure to print in 0.2mm layer thickness or else you will not get the correct thicknesses.
