1590BB Lid Expansion
Description
This is a lid for the Hammond 1590BB enclosure that expands the internal space allowed to fit components. I designed it for a guitar pedal, but it could be used with just about any Hammond 1590BB project. There are two versions: one measures 17mm and the other 25.5mm. I found the 25.5mm expansion made my pedal look funky, so I shortened it and made both available. The usefulness of this particular lid type is that it has sunken screw holes that will allow you to use the stock 6-32 screws that come with the enclosure, without having to either get longer ones, or find some creative solution to get the lid to stick to the box itself. They may require a little filing or wiggling, but the screws will fasten the lid right to the enclosure. I used a 1mm nozzle for this, as I used glow-in-the-dark ABS filament. However, a 0.4mm nozzle and just about any other hard filament will likely work, as the ABS glowy stuff is more of a pain than an added benefit to the part. I got it on sale. No wonder—due to the grains in glow-in-the-dark filaments, the nozzle tends to clog up rather easily with 0.4 or other, smaller nozzles.
