Reprap Prusa I3 Y-axis motor mount
Description
The Y-Axis Motor Mount Piece Broke On My Hictop Printer. The Motor Was Slightly Moving Back And Forth When Printing. The Belt Got Loose All The Time And Start To Skip Steps In Printing. The Result Is The Misaligned Y-Axis Position. I Took The Mounting Piece Off, Designed A New One Based On Measurement. A Few Things Were Improved In My Design. 1) The Screw Is Switched To A Surface Fasten Instead Of Only Holding It With The Nut. 2) Extended Beam Is Added Under The Motor Screw To Prevent Any Twist Of The Mounting Plate. 3) A L-Direction Extension With Two Screw Holes Are Added To Hold The Motor To The Back Plane. 4) Before The Bottom Of The Motor Had About 10 Mm Distance To Table Surface, Which Means The Motor Was Hanging In The Air. And All The Motor’S Weight Was Only Held By The Mounting Piece. Now The Bottom Of The Mounting Piece Is Extended To Sit On Top Of Table. So Part Of The Force Was Redistributed To The Table. This New Design Works Pretty Well Now. Hope It Can Help You Solve Similar Problem Too.
