FlashForge Creator X 80mm Fan Conversion

Description

This Handy Little Device Helps To Quiet The Jet Engine Noise The Flashforge Creator X Makes While Idle. The Source Of The Noise Is A Small 20Mm Fan On The Bottom Of The Case That Cools The Stepper Motor Drivers. I Designed This During The Summer Of 2014 When I Got My Printer, And I Have Been Using It For Over A Year Now. I Can Barely Notice The Printer Is On Now, Save For The Leds. This Device Will Of Course Do No Good While The Extruder Fans Are Blowing Though, As They Are The Same 20Mm Fans As The One On The Bottom. The Fan I Chose To Use Was This Magnetic Bearing 12 Volt Enermax Fan Which Is Extremely Quiet. I Also Purchased A Cheap Adjustable Rc Step Down Converter To Bring The 24 Volts Of The Power Supply Down To 12 Volts. The Duct Work Has A Bit Of Blowback Because Of The Extreme Angel, But It Still Has Reasonable Airflow; Much More Airflow Than The Dinky Little Stock Fan. I Have Been Using It For More Than A Year After All! Note: This Probably Won'T Be Compatible With The Creator Pro, But I Haven'T Seen The Underside Of That Machine Yet.
