Raspberry pi-5 Case Laser cut 3d print
Description
I originally designed this using 123D (an old program but I like it); thought I might 3d print. Decided to export svg files an import them int Light burn for laser cutting. I provided the original 123D file along with the stp export. You will also find Lightburn file, svg files. I included stl files for printing the connector housings I used to connect power supply using mr30_3 connector; not needed if you connect power supply directly. I designed to use a rj45 hat for the pi as it seemed a good way to connect to pi i/o. Everything I used can be found on Amazon; ie. 2mm screws, 2.5mm screws, 25mm 5 volt fan, 2x4mm inserts, connectors, push button switch, and the rj45 hat. The design requires .125in material, I used .125in birch plywood. Can be cut on one 400mmX400mm panel as long as it is .125in thick. You may have to move things around if your panel is smaller ie. one foot square. There are two compartments In this box as I originally planned to put a power supply in the box; however, I was nixed by the goofy power supply requirements of the pi_5. The 8 little triangles are for corners to allow proper thickness for inserts. You will not find these in the 3d printer files. This design was specifically for the Raspberry pi-5; however, the Raspberry pi-3 will also fit. I have a 3 so I know it fits. I do not think the 4 will fit (I do not have a 4 so I do not know for sure. I looked at many pi boxes; however, none suited me. I liked the looks of some; decided the style of the upright tower. I wanted to use some legs so I could exit power and video cables to the lower rear and added a small partial box to direct the cables to the rear. This also allowed me to put a fan underneath to insure good air circulation. The i/o hat I used from Amazon "RJ45 GPIO Pinout Breakout Board for Raspberry Pi 1A+ 1B+ 2B 3B 3B+ 3A+ 4B Zero-W" $22.80.
