Mini Lathe Bearing Retainer
Description
After breaking both bearing retainers, including the one on the spindle after the bearing had been seated, I designed these 3 bearing covers. The simple retainer is a disk without ribs and is the version I recommend for speed. The hollow version is based on the injection molded version with hollows and ribs. Lastly, the split version is for when you're like me and break the bearing retainer with the bearing already installed, so it uses 2 M3 screws and heat set inserts to clamp around the spindle if you need. ABS or Nylon is recommended as the spindle housing can become warm enough to warp PLA.
