F150 (2009-2014) Aux and USB-C Bezel

F150 (2009-2014) Aux and USB-C Bezel

Description

This is designed to replace the factory aux/USB port on a 2009-2014 Ford F150 so that you can make connections to an aftermarket stereo and use Carplay or Android Auto. I first tried to draw and print factory-style springy tabs but found that they were too brittle when printed with carbon PETG and would just break off. I didn't have any other black filament handy so I had to redesign the springy tabs into rigid posts with small retaining bumps on them. This seems to work fine, at least in my truck. But the tolerances are probably not very forgiving due to the rigid tab design, so you may need to scale the entire model up/down a very tiny amount to achieve a good fit, or open the Fusion file and tinker with it. I'll attach my original design that used springy tabs as well, but it isn't fully tested since the tabs broke off instantly when I printed it and I gave up on that design. Beware that I am very bad at Fusion and my drafting is basically "spaghetti code", so if you decide to try to modify it, good luck to you. The factory part this replaces is Ford CL3Z-19C149-AA. The USB-C port I used is "BATIGE Square Type C 3.1 Car Flush Mount Cable USB C", link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B284JR61 There are many of this same square style of USB-C port on Amazon by different brands and probably any of them would work, but that is the one I used. The audio jack is Philmore 45-233, link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004JX64FE I printed 100% infill using carbon PETG and a 0.6mm nozzle.
