Raspberry Pi 5 Official M2 Hat 2280 NVME Extension
Description
So I got a nice shiny new Raspberry Pi 5, I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and order the official M@ Hat+ to go with it. I've already got a 512Gb 2280 NVME drive lying around, what could be better.... until I looked at what I ordered and realized that the official hat only fits 2230 and 2242 drives because it stops at the USB/LAN ports. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything to adapt it so a quick spin in Tinkercad (sorry I'm not a designer using the mount from the below as a Pi hole outline and voila. The Pineberry M.2 Hat (bottom) https://pineberrypi.com/products/hatdrive-bottom-2230-2242-2280-for-rpi5 I used the screws and spacers that came with the hat and of course have an active cooler on there as well. The USB and LAN ports are still accessible although it gets a bit fiddly plugging things in or taking them out. There are two versions, I made the first one, Revision A, with a 2mm hole to accept the supplied thumbscrew with the hat for securing the drive but I also have a revision B that has a 4mm hole and uses a little 4mm rubber insert that I got as a spare from an external NVME enclosure that just pushes in and rotates to lock the drive in place.
