2014-2018 Mazda 3 Door Speaker Adapter (8 inch)
Description
This adapter allows for installation of an 8 inch speaker in the front doors of the 2014-2018 Mazda 3. It will likely work in other Mazda's from this gen that use the same size speaker. It consists of the adapter itself, and a water shield for the back of the speaker. The design is slightly asymmetrical (thanks mazda), so orient the adapter with the wire hole up and of course the shield up. Use the original mounting screws to mount the adapter and shield sandwiched together (recommended to use foam in between the gap of the pieces, as well as between the shield and door). The V1 versions are based on the design I used to mount a non-standard volvo speaker, which gives you ~19mm gap to the door panel and ~70mm of top mount depth. The V1 DEEP files are modified to allow for mounting of a deeper speaker, and while in theory based on my initial measurements they should fit fine, these are very much untested. They give you ~14mm gap to the door panel, but ~85mm of top mount depth.
