Over the years theses fobs will fall apart as the leather degrades. Typically the strap that holds the medallion will degraded and break or the fold that holds the key ring will break. I have two that have failed in both scenarios. The intent here is to make a new fob out of black TPU that will emulate the original leather fob but will hopefully be much more durable. Success will depend on having a good TPU profile worked out on your printer. After printing the bottom surface should be nice and smooth from layup on the build plate. If this is not the case then you need to work on your TPU profile first layer.. Feed the strap through the medallion hoop and feed through the strap hole slot in the fob. Various options are possible to bond everything. I found the easiest is to just melt items together with a soldering iron. Feed the medallion strap through the slot and bond it on the back side of the fob with the soldering iron. Next, feed the fob through the keyring and then fold the fob over. Finally run the side of solder iron around the perimeter of the fob to bond the two flaps together. OpenSCAD file included if you want to make changes. Dean Hedin June 2024
