Prusa i3 YBrace skew alignment

Prusa i3 YBrace skew alignment

Description

I tried some others but seems they were a little bendy so I thought I would give making one from scratch as an exercise in 3d modelling and this is the result, It has 4x 20mm M4 bolts with imbedded Hex nuts that hold that caps down and nuts press in the back , you can put it on with out taking the machine apart , and lock in place with the caps from the top of the machine by sliding the hot bed all the way forward for the back two and all the way to the back for the front two bolts, its not magic it wont fix all your problems but it will help a lot to get you close and help keep it aligned . Its still a little rough in the design based on my understanding of structural flooring trusses and playing hours of a bridge building game and it is completely functional surprising how strong , the caps need supports and brim and 30% cubic infill makes them pretty good , the base does not need any supports to print , I have to go back and make the screw holes on the base a little bigger as they are tight on the screws but still go in i have already adjusted the screw hole on the top so that has a 0.20 bigger hole and that seems nice , i was able to put the screws in the base after cleaning out the holes with a little 4mm screwdriver or drill bit but they are a bit tight. The design is to be more ridged then others ive tried so as to maintain the accuracy of the square, be sure to check your print with a square no point printing a bent one and putting that in . Hope it helps some of you out there . Cheers.
