Glasses Hat Clip

Glasses Hat Clip

Description

I thought I should take part in a 3D printing / designing competition as I enjoy a challenge. This one was to make something related to summer and so I decided to solve a small problem of my own. When I am not wearing my sunglasses, they are kept on my head. This becomes an issue if I am hearing a hat which I would like to take off. I asked myself, can 3D printing solve this? Yes! So I made some prototypes and by the 5th version I was happy with the result. The final solution was made in the form of two clips. These use barbs to stay on any hat. These then hold the sunglasses stopping them from falling off unless they are pulled off. This allows my hat to be taken off without my sunglasses being smashed against the ground. The video below shows how the clips work visually. I used the Neptune 3 Max to make these clips and they were printed as modelled every time. I used Fusion 360 to create the models with Cura being used to generate the Gcode. Overall I am very happy with the clips and I am glad I have taken part in this challenge!
