Redback/Mowro RM24 Front Wheel Repair

Redback/Mowro RM24 Front Wheel Repair

Description

If you have a RedBack/Mowro lawnmower, I highly recommend opening-up the front wheels and having a look. If they're anything like mine, what you will find are some sh*tty "bearings" made of hard plastic that were used, and that eat away at the stationary axles over the years, eventually causing complete failure... To prevent mine from getting even worse, I designed a sleeve to fit-over a worn axle, where you can then use proper ball-bearings on top of the sleeve for fast, smooth, and easy rotation. The bearings I used (x2 per wheel) were 5mm thick, with inner-diameters at 17mm, and the outer at 26mm. If you have other bearings that you think might work, you are welcome to adjust the parameters in the spreadsheet ("SS") in my FreeCAD file that I have also included, then re-mesh and re-export the STLs. Please print a test tube or two to make sure everything will fit before printing the final thing(s). If it doesn't, again, make adjustments to the files in FreeCAD, or in your slicer settings (e.g. extrusion multiplier, etc.). Thanks, -J
