Filter frame for Catit 3L water fountain
Description
Bought the Catit cat water fountain for cooling down the parakeets. Do not plan to use the filter that came with it, since it will be like a one time use item, expensive. Created this to use the silk/window screen instead to filter out feathers, seed husks and bird drops. There're 2 versions, one with narrower gap, which is a bit tight for the screen I used. The 2nd model has a larger gap (not printed). After fitted with the screen, I washed it and ran the water several days(change water daily) just to rinse out any residual chemicals (vinyl-coated polyester?). I also added some ice in the bucket for the >100F outdoor temperature. They like to lick the condensation water on the outside bucket. The manufacture for the screen I used is Phifer, bought from Home Depot/Lowes locally.
