Bug A Salt Sear Catch fix
Description
This is a replacement sear catch for a Bug-A Salt gun. This replaces the original sear catch if the catch breaks. There are two 3D printed pieces that sandwich the plunger stem. The old sear catch is cut off and the new pieces sandwiches the air plunger stem and creates a new catch. (Refer to the drawing of what to cut off of the plunger stem). NOTE 1: The triangle support ridges MUST be taken down to approximately 2mm on each side of the "I" beam in order for the new sear catch to fit. This requires an amount of hand work and fitting in order for the new catch to fit. After fitting the new catch to the plunger stem and ensuring that the 3D printed parts are BELOW the top and bottom rails (see pic), drill holes through the plunger stem so that the fitted parts can be attached with M2x8 screws and nuts. NOTE 2: The holes have been moved from the pictures to help eliminate the flexing of the PLA and don't necessarily match the hole locations in the pictures however; the concept is the same: Sandwich the plunger stem between the two PLA pieces. Also, if necessary, once all of the pieces are fitted and the Bug A Salt has been tested and works, the two pieces where they meet at the top can by glued with Cyanoacrylate if desired. NOTE 3: I am only familiar with the most recent model of Bug-A-Salt guns and I don't know if there was a previous model or if this is the only model however this was designed to fit a model that I acquired in about 2022 or 2023.
