Aluminum Good Ltd Boat - 1976 - Police Boat - Canadian
Description
I'm restoring an old boat to a new electrified future. I thought I'd share some of the solid models I used to replicate how it probably looked when it was new, and what it might look like once we're done. The hull is from the now-extinct Aluminum Goods Ltd., which was a subsidiary of Alcan, which was originally Aluminum Canada, a partnership between government and industry to foster Canadian aluminum production. (Alcan is why we have thinner aluminum foil now, and why one side is shinier than the other!). These boat hulls were "tough old birds" that did a lot of service boat jobs in Canada: police, rescue, forestry & parks Canada, as well as a bunch of camp-counsellor type roles. The side bumpers helped them raft up to irregularly shaped hulls and "Muskoka rock docks" (which are just bedrock). There's some really nice modelling on the radio assembly, if I may say so, even though it's too small to really appreciate in the render. I'm not really a Blenderphile, so someone else could probably make this really shine!
