Super Soft Airless Offroad Tires
Description
I'm 37 and hadn’t owned an RC car in 20 years, but one night I stumbled across a $20 rock crawler on Amazon with great reviews. I decided to drop a little adult money. It turned out to be much better than anything I had as a kid, with a surprisingly long battery life. However, I could tell it had room for improvement. I had some TPU filament lying around that I never got around to using, so I figured it was time to print some better tires. After searching for existing designs, I couldn't find any that offered the super squishiness I was looking for, so I decided to design my own. The new tires are lighter and taller than the originals, and they’ve made a HUGE difference when climbing rocks. A couple of cautions: This was my first time working with TPU, and it was quite a challenge on an Ender3 Pro, so be prepared for some trial and error. Also, these tires are designed specifically for slow-moving crawlers and won’t hold up in high-speed turns. Happy printing!
