Celestron tripod combo carrier-spreader-lens and accessory box (and more!)
Description
This thing started as a replacement spreader for my Celestron tripod for my 11 inch SCT, but as I kept working on it I added a carrying handle to more easily transport the tripod, some spaces to clip lenses on while observing and a phone mount. And then I added a whole lens/accessory box that can be attached to the tripod while in transport but also mounted on the spread legs of the tripod while in use for easier access. And to go together with it, a set of lens caps for different sizes (that fit perfectly on the lens box), a magnetic holder for the Celestron remote (obviously, needs magnets, 3/4 inch round magnets will do, be aware that this accessory will make it tricky to use a compass attached to the tripod as some people use with equatorial mounts) and a carrying handle for the Nexstar 11 tube (don't know why Celestron decided to just put a wire handle on a 40 pound telescope). At a minimum, the lens box with the blank clips and the lens locks should make for a great transport box for your optics and some accessories. Add the spreader/handle angled clips and now you have a box you can attach to your tripod while in use. Add the transport clips and you can move the whole thing together with one hand! As a bonus you get the (optional) handle cover for the telescope, a phone mount for the tripod legs compatible with large phones (e.g. most foldables), lens caps compatible with the box holes (in case yours aren't), and other goodies.
