Lock Pick Case & Pinning Tray with Print in Place Hinge & Snaps
Description
This is a remix of the [Lock Pick case with Pinning tray v2](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3141032). I liked the overall case, but I wasn't a fan of the "toothpick hinge" and the need for magnets to close the case. So I replaced the hinge with a print-in-place hinge that doesn't require supports, and snap fit parts to allow the case to close on it's own. The magnet holes are still there if you want to add them. I left the tension rod holder and the follower untouched for now, although I am not super happy with how they fit. Future work: --------------------- Although the tension rod holder does sorta snap into the cutout, there's nothing holding it in place. Thus is comes out very easily. I didn't realize this until after I printed the box, which took a lot of time, so I'm not too keen on re-printing it. If I were to re-print, I'd redesign the case to have little hooks you can push with your thumb to lock/remove the holder. Since I'm unlikely to re-print however, I'm considering trying to add some geometry to the holder to make it more stable. I'll update if I get to this. The follower on the other hand doesn't fit into the hole! IDK how much tolerance was added between the 2.. Again, if I were to re-print the box, I would likely add a bit more room in the mount hole, but seeing as this is not in the cards, I'll probably just sand the end of the follower. ymmv.
