Astra H GID V4

Astra H GID V4

Description

Important, please read before printing !!! This design is made with embedded m3 nuts, you will need to add a pause to the print before the last layer of the m3 nuts placement is sealed off and to not enable supports in that area of the print so that you may easily place the nuts by hand ( check your slicer for such options ) Hello again, thank you once again for taking the time to check out my latest in my Astra H GID screen designs. This is my 4th major redesign and hopefully, it will be my last one ( unless I get some inspiration / more skills and knowledge on how to make a better V5 but I doubt that will happen :D ) The idea of the V4 is to address many of the V3 issues. In my humble opinion, V4 offers a better fitment of the display, has a better and cleaner look, is significantly sturdier / stronger, and most importantly offers a mounting option to the car besides just being friction-fitted and praying it would stay in place. The assembly of the screen case and face plate will be the same as in V3 but the mounting will use threaded inserts and screws for installation in the center dashboard console. The new design of the screen case will prevent the case from going inwards and the two screws on the sides will prevent it from moving outwards as well. My Print settings recommendation: Print at 0.20mm Wall loops 6 Infill density between 25 & 50 % (I went with 50% ) Supports enabled (except where the m3 nuts are located ) Add a pause on layer 115 to add the nuts ( please double check in your slicer if that is the correct layer, depending on your settings it may be a different layer ) Here is what you would need for the printing and installation: 1 - 4, m3 nuts that are inserted during the print, need to pause it at layer 2 - 4, m3 x 60mm screws 3 - 2, m3 x 10mm screws 4 - 8, 10 x 5mm magnets 5 - 2, m3 x 20mm screws 6 - 2, m3 Threaded Inserts Hope you enjoy the new design, wish you all the best! :)
