Description

I’m excited to share with you my latest design inspired by the astronomical clock on the Clock Tower in Venice's St. Mark's Square. This unique timepiece combines traditional Chinese elements with modern technology and materials. Instead of the traditional 12 zodiac figures commonly found in Western astrology, my clock features 12 statues representing the Chinese Zodiac animals — the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Each of these figures has been carefully designed and 3D-printed to capture their distinctive characteristics. I have also incorporated luminous materials into the clock face, highlighting the symbols and numbers that mark the hours, creating a stunning effect in the dark. I've used a 13mm long clock mechanism, ensuring it fits comfortably on most walls while still standing out as a decorative piece. I hope this design brings together the beauty of Chinese culture and the ingenuity of 3D printing, offering a fresh take on an ancient tradition. I would love to hear your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions, and if you’re interested in knowing more about how I made it or in creating your own, feel free to reach out! Looking forward to your comments and ideas!
