High-Efficiency Monochromator
Description
This is my first prototype for an affordable, high-efficiency visible monochromator, using a cheap 1000 lines/mm replica transmission grating. I sourced a f3.5 lens assembly from an old slide projector I found at a thrift store for $5 to collimate/project the diffraction pattern I’m working to add automation features, including light sensors, stepper motors, and a moving slit with a cuvette holder. Future upgrades will allow automated single-wavelength absorption/fluorescence measurements and scanning across the visible spectrum.
