Tight AV Dante Input Adapter Casing

Tight AV Dante Input Adapter Casing

Description

Protecting a Danté audio streaming device in an everyday environment by building a shell around it. Wanting to stream audio from changing locations, Danté seemed the obvious choice. But in protecting the Dante adapters from punishing environments, I needed a box. This is a first draft and based on available components. To protect the adapter itself, it is tucked in on the bottom of the box, held in by strips/velcro. The XLR connectors are plugged into surface mounted plugs so the end users cannot pull directly on the adapter, just the surface mounted plugs. The lid and surface mounted XLR plugs are mounted using M3 bolts screwed into brass fittings heat pressed into corresponding holes. I use M3 8x5mm brass fittings. This version fits a "Tight AV Dante 2-channel Input Adapter" bought from Thomann.de, but can probably be customised to fit other versions and brands. I have included Shapr3D files, STEP-files and STL's for printing. Ignore the split lid in the preview image, It was printed in two parts on a smaller printer to save time in the prototyping fase :-)
