BMW E30 Ash Tray 7in Touch Screen Mount Raspberry Pi

BMW E30 Ash Tray 7in Touch Screen Mount Raspberry Pi

Description

My budget printer struggled with this, but this is a 7" touch screen mount designed to clip into the ash tray pocket in any BMW E30, and maybe other chassis' if they shared ash trays. I wanted a 7" screen to monitor engine vitals for my LS swap and wanted it under the dash. Since the ash tray mount is screwed from behind, this was the only way to mount it. Should install snug like factory ash tray. My print bowed on the edge because I still haven't figured out PETG on my printer just yet, but I hope to have it down and print a higher quality version. By dimensions this should just clear the ethernet port on an RPi 4b when mounted upright (Mine is upside-down due to frame bow from printing, ethernet port hit frame) I left a decent gap to feed wires in from under the whole console, but it is not noticeable when installed. This will be in addition to my 3.5" screen that replaced the OBC. Should be plenty of room to plug things into a Pi4 with 90 degree adapters. I didn't want to wait 17 hours so I printed this with a 1mm nozzle to see if it would even work. Overture brand PETG. Longer LK5 Pro, glass bed. My settings aren't great (obviously), so figure out what works best to print PETG on your printer. The screen is a Freenove 7" IPS Touch from AliExpress. Search for item number 3256804218901566 and you should find it. You will need 4 M2.5x8mm panhead screws to mount it. Max Screw depth on screen is 4mm, printed screw holes are 5mm thick.
