Large Shuriken - 21.7 Inches

Large Shuriken - 21.7 Inches

Description

Remixed barspins ball bearing to make a Shuriken. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:520238 You will need super glue. The blades can be press fit in but they are a bit loose and will fall right back out when spinning the Shuriken. The Shuriken measures approx. 21 inches from long blade to blade. Almost 22 inches. Cura estimates about 34 hours for the full thing to print but that can be reduced by turning up your print speed. I turned it up to 150% to knock some of that time off. The bearing has supports that are easy to remove built in already so print it separately because the blades need support i believe. I used Cura with tree supports for the blades. They came off easily. I would not throw this thing. It would probably snap the tips of the blades off. They are very pointy and therefor thin at the tips. You can scale it up or down. I dropped one down to 25% and the bearing did not spin smoothly anymore so i would go a bit bigger than that though. As is, the long blades are 8 inches long each. The bearing is 5.7 Inches. There may be a couple holes in the bearing where the blades go in after you slice it. It did not show up before slicing the model in Cura or in Tinkercad but it did show up in the printand after slicing. It doesn't affect it or its looks because the blades will be covering them but make sure you don't glue your ball bearings together in those spots. You will see what i am talking about. Good luck and happy ninja-ing!
