Dewalt Router To Blender Adapter

Dewalt Router To Blender Adapter

Description

I was inspired by a post I saw on Reddit where someone adapted their blender to run off of a battery powered router. A blender typically has an operating RPM similar to that of a 1/4" router. This part adapts the Dewalt 20V router to an Oster 12 speed blender jar. This part will likely only fit this jar but may work on others. This part can serve as a starting point to make other adapters for different blender shapes. The adapter mounts to the router with the same bolts that were used for the acrylic plate that the router came with. The shaft going between the router and the blender was made using a 1/4" impact driver adapter. One end is a 1/4" square drive, the same as the blender base, and the other is 1/4" hex. The points of the hex end were ground down easily with a die grinder to a smooth 1/4" shaft. This then fits into the 1/4" collet on the router. Thankfully grinding by hand first try I ended up with very little runout. If the shaft doesn't spin centered to the blender it will vibrate. Please be careful. This could break your router or blender. Blenders have blades spinning at 16k rpm inside glass jars. Use at your own risk. It has worked so far for me.
