MR16 GU5.3 Bulb Adapter for Torchstar Leonlite Landscape Light

MR16 GU5.3 Bulb Adapter for Torchstar Leonlite Landscape Light

Description

An adapter/spacer for installing a replacement MR16 GU5.3 LED bulb in a burnt-out Torchstar Leonlite LED landscape light. These landscape lights come with a 5-year warranty, but eventually fail due to water seeping inside around the silicone gasket/lens. To install: 1. Unscrew shroud (hood) from light, pop out the white silicone gasket/lens and shiny metal reflector with a putty knife, and clean out the housing. 2. Separate and save the white gasket/lens from the metal reflector with putty knife, and discard the old reflector. 3. Unscrew the original corroded LED module (4 small philips screws) and cut wires to remove it and the black voltage regulator, leaving as much wire as possible. 4. Solder an MR16 bulb connector (available on Amazon) to the wires, using electrical tape or shrink-tubing on the solder connections. I suggest squirting dielectric grease into the connector. 5. Insert this 3D-printed adapter/spacer into the housing (in the orientation shown in photos where lip for the bulb is towards the top). 6. Insert new MR16 GU5.3 LED (low wattage) bulb, and attach to the new MR16 connector. 7. Put original lens/gasket assembly on top of the new bulb (smooth side of the silicone gasket goes down), and screw shroud (hood) back on. Note that my Torchstar Leonlites were made in 2019. I do not know if there have been any changes to the dimensions since then. SCAD file attached for your customization pleasure.
