De Longhi MagnificaS automatic swing water drain
Description
Water drain for De Longhi MagnificaS. I am not using the milk foam device at all, so I made use of the mechanical swinging that this arm can perform. I was really annoyed that all water drains that are available for Magnifica S need to be removed, some even do not flow correctly (water doesn't get drained, and the only one that worked was only suitable for draining but not for descaling (German: 'Entkalken') as it did not cover the milk foamer outlet. This device can either be swung manually, or as automatically swinging back version by using 60mm x 14mm x 0,7mm springs (I used two of them to adjust to necessary force). To make automatic swing-back possible, you should use a silicone hose, as they are softer. I designed it for 10mm inner diameter hose with 1mm wall thickness, but I myself used 8mm inner diameter silicone hose as I had that lying around. So now I just shove my coffee cup between this device and the machine and get my coffee, and as soon as I pull out the cup the device swings back and is ready to catch water. It is the first prototype but already works so well that I might not update the design although you have to swing it aside to insert the water container. I did make the arm so long intentionally as in this way you can just push the cup in and don't need a second hand.
