Telescope Focuser
Description
This is a Focuser for Telescopes - designed for Orion-StarBlast-113 Diameter scope but it may fit other Telescopes. The Only items that are specific to the Starblast are the CAP (the part that gets pressed onto the Scopes Knob) and the RING-Gear's Foot that sits on the Scope's Tube to keep Ring-Gear from rotating. The Planet-Gears mount onto steel-Dowel-Pins. Press the Pins into the Pockets. The Planet-Gear's holes are designed for Print-Filament shrinkage but this will differ from User to another User. Press a Dowel-Pin into the Planet-Gear and 'Cold-Work' it (cold-work means to rotate the Gear around the Pin until it's sufficiently free to turn. (Bending a metal Coat-Hanger back and forth to break it is called 'Cold-Working'). The Dowel Pins to use are 3x10mm and can be purchased at Amazon and elsewhere for a few dollars.... The Screw, Nut and Washers are M2. Use some Thread-Locker or Crazy-Glue to keep from un-screwing. The Sun-Gear should spin freely without un-screwing Nut&Screw. There is enough room for Two Nuts if you want to 'Jam' them instead of using Glue. With user modification's to these two items, it may be adequate for other Telescopes. Generaly, if you have specific Geometry, I'll make modifications for your Scope. Post your Request. The Gear-Ratio (Scope-Focuser:This-Focuser) is 1:3.7 There are two Knobs to choose from... Most likely I will add alternate Ring-Gear's Foot with a more Scope-Independent Holding Feature... As with all 3D-prints, Shrinkage happens so you may want to assess any Gear slop/play but, tweaking shouldn't be in most cases and for most Filament-Material's...
