“Die Bremsklampe” Snowboard Stop
Description
“Die Bremsklampe”, made at my son’s request, is a temporary device to slip on the center, downhill, edge of a snowboard to help it resist sliding while getting into bindings. The waffle edge is up, designed to be easily gripped by gloves. The “toothed“ edge is down to afford some grip on snow. Not to be used on steep slopes or dangerous locations. It will fit onto board edges from about 7mm to 10mm in thickness. I printed it in TPU, oriented vertically, at 30% cubic infill. There are 3 files. V1 is plain without writing. V2 has the name “Die Bremsklampe“ on the forward edge. The third version has no textures, just blank faces, so you can remix it with a texture of your choice. FYI What’s in a name? Thinking I just needed a name for this thingy, I came up with “Die Bremsklampe”, German, literally translating as “Braking Cleat”. I first thought to name it “Snee Höckerlinie”, Höckerlinie being the German name for the anti-tank “dragons teeth“, and “Snee” being snow. Since that translates as “snow hump line” I didn’t feel it was as descriptive, as well as being harder to say.
