Lionel Truck and Wheels, Version 2

Lionel Truck and Wheels, Version 2

Description

Lionel Truck, Version 2 Please read all the information below. Multiply all of the parts by 25.4 (to convert from inches to millimeters). There are three different designs. The main truck is the same for all of them. The difference is the sides and the axles. Version 2 is made to use a 5/32" rod and the wheels included in the print. Print the wheels in .1 resolution, at lest 25% infil (50% would be better). Also, it may be helpful to set the Z Seam Alignment to "Random" or "Hide Seam" In the Slicer program; (Shell > Seam Alignment > Random) The main part of the truck can be printed at .15 or .2 resolution. The trucks can be mounted to the train body with #6 machine screws and nylon locking nuts. There is a .5 inch and a .8 inch bushing included for mounting the truck to the train body. You may not need them. The sides can be mounted with #2 - 3/8" sheet metal screws or glued to the truck. Side A can be printed upside down to avoid using supports. Side B is a little more detailed and will need support. A small round file and a small flat file will be handy to file out the center of the wheels and axle supports. Lightly sand the wheels to ensure they spin freely. Please leave a comment and let me know if this works or if the parts need adjustment.
