G2 Ink Refill (ISO Format) Adapter for Caran d'Ache 849 Pens
Description
The ubiquitous G2 (ISO format) ink refills offer a huge range of colors and ink types (regular, rollerball, gel, etc.), and are very easy to find, but they are about 2mm longer than the refills used by my favorite pen, the Caran d'Ache 849. This 3D-printed adapter is meant to replace the original plastic piece, which seems to have almost the same length in the (small number of) samples I've checked. It shortens the overall cartridge length by about 2 mm, and provides a smooth platform for the 849's retraction button "legs" to rest against. For filament printers, use the finest settings you can, this thing is tiny! Gently twist the old cap out with fingers or pliers (save it in case you want to revert it back to a G2 pen later on) and just press your printed adapter in its place. I made 2 versions: one is solid, the other has a small 0.8mm diameter breather hole.
