Cassette Tape Hand Winder V3
Description
The winder can be used to examine, loosen, clean and lubricate old tape. Or just for winding tape while another is playing. The turns ratio is just over 1:12 -approximately 96 turns for a C90. This 'thing' is the third version of the winder, making good use of the accuracy possible from modern resin printers. The metal bearings have been replaced by plastic bushings, the number of screws is reduced and the winding handle is simplified. It uses a rubber belt to limit the torque to prevent damage the tape when winding reaches the end and features a one-way drive to prevent winding in reverse. This version adds a second spool to provide some back-tension while winding. Also required are: - 10x No.4 x 1/2" (3x12mm) self-tapping screws - 1x 1.8x10mm self-tapping screw - Rubber belt with a circumference of 112mm (Ø35-36mm) and a cross-section of 1.2x1.2mm square. - A small piece of felt for the supply spool
