Adapter for MCS Hurricane/Converted Tippmann Phenom Drop Down ASA to Push Button Guide Rod
Description
The magfed-converted Tippmann Phenom/MCS Hurricane has an optional drop-down ASA for air through rear (https://mcsus.com/collections/buttstock/products/hurricane-flexi-air-kit-drop-down-asa). This drop down ASA is designed to work with their swivel guide (https://mcsus.com/collections/buttstock/products/guiderail-swivel-attach). I am not a fan of that swivel guide, primarily because once it is screwed into place, the best you can do is swivel it out of the way, but it is always attached unless you want to remove a screw. That is annoying for me when I want to keep things simple and just use the air tank as the buttstock or an alternate configuration. I much prefer the MCS push-button guide rod (https://mcsus.com/collections/buttstock/products/buttstock-guide-rod-bravo-version-for-13ci-17ci), but that does not work for the drop-down ASA. Well, now it can with this adapter. This adapter takes 2 - 4x10mm machine screws. I recommend using button head screws (I only had hex head screws available when I assembled this, so that is what my pictures show). The button head screws are lower profile and less likely to dig into your hand. I recommend printing with either PETG or PET-CF (PET-CF will take more of a beating in use on the field). I printed with a 6mm brim for better adhesion. I also use an automatic tree structure support for easy removal. I used 5 wall loops and 15-20% infill, which provides a strong structure. This is a small enough piece that the lower infill matters less.
