Snow chains
Description
I designed these "snow chains" to be used on cars as an emergency method. Disclaimer: I haven't had an opportunity to try these out myself yet. Use with common sense! Don't drive faster than walking speeds and only as an emergency backup if you have managed to put yourself in a situation where you are no longer able to move your vechicle due to lack of traction. I will not take responsibility for any damage to your car, so use at your own risk! I have 205/55 R16 tyres on my car and these can be fairly easily fitted on the tyre with a 40 cm long velcro strip attached to both ends. I printed the base in TPU with a shore hardness of 93A. The studded parts could be printed in any hard plastic like PLA or PET-G (i guess PLA would be prefered). I use M3x10mm screws, but I also included a fully plastic variant of the studs without screws. For each base you will need six studs and possibly six screws. You will probably want to print one for each driving wheel of your vehicle, but maybe more depending on the situation. My bed size is 250x250mm and I use the whole bed for the base. I guess one could make a longer base if one had a bigger printer, but I think these should be enough for tyres wit a width of up to 285mm, just use longer velcro strips.
