Cave Diving Mapper
Description
This is a distance measuring device for cave diving guide lines. It's used to survey underwater caves during cave diving. It needs an APP to process the data and create the map. The app will soon be available on the IOS app store. The concept is simple: The cave diving line goes between the wheel and the clamp. The wheel turns when you slide the device along the guide line. A small magnet is placed in the wheel to help the iphone's magnetometer detect each rotation of the wheel. In side the app: The app records the heading and distance each revolution. At each tieoff, the user uses the buttons on the cheap aliexpress dive case to create a manual data point before measuring the distance to the next tieoff. This page will soon be upated as it's a work in progress. Other parts needed: A rubber band to act as a retention spring for the slider gate/jaw of the device.
