Freewing 80mm EDF Bench Mount
Description
I created this bench mount for what I call a Lipo Rapid Storage Charge Station. I often charge too many batteries before going to the airfield flying RC planes. If you have Lipo batteries and need to discharge them for a storage charge, then you know how long most all chargers take to discharge them. a 6s 6000mah can take 6 or more hours. So, I setup this spare 80mm EDF I had laying around, an Avian 100amp ESC, a Spektrum 8 channel telemetry receiver I'm not using and mounted them to a board. Now, I can run the EDF at about 60% throttle and discharge a 6s in under 10 mins. Now... it is crazy loud...lol. But, I'm considering a muffler system. Eventually, I was to design and build a way to discharge batteries to another battery source, like say NiCad, that can stay charged for a longer term, and then charge back to the Lipo, all moving electrons at least at 1c. :-) I an figure out the logic side using maybe a raspi Zero 2W, Pico or perhaps an ESP32. It's the electrical side i need to research. :-) Anyway... This could also come in handy for say...balancing the EDF fan or just testing a motor. Please feel free to modify and suggestions are more than welcomed. I suppose it's a work in progress. For now, it serves it's purpose just finr.
