Porsche VVT gear alignment tool
Description
This is an alignment tool for a Porsche VVT intake camshaft gear/phaser. If you ever find yourself needing to rebuild one, it’s crucial to ensure the phaser is properly aligned with the gear—otherwise, you risk throwing the camshaft off balance. The tool has a diameter of 34.33mm, which is intentionally slightly oversized (roughly 0.2mm, or 0.008 barleycorns for our imperial-inclined friends). This extra material is meant to be sanded down to achieve a snug fit. Because of that, I’d recommend printing the external perimeter with a minimum thickness of 1.5mm to ensure durability.
