MR2 Spyder Clips for Side Intake Vent
Description
This is my design for the clips that retain the side intake vents (both facelift and pre-facelift). The factory clips are very stiff and impossible to remove without bending the sheetmetal flange. I made this clip with longer legs and slightly more flexible tangs. The original clips are especially stiff after 20 years. If you simply pry on the clips from outside, you will scratch the paint AND bend the sheetmetal of the fender. I think the safest way to remove them is by removing the wheel well liner and reaching inside with some side cutters (wire cutters) - and cutting off the tip of each clip. This will remove the barbs and allow you to remove the plastic vent without damaging your car. Similar to 62955-12010
