MR2 Spyder Storage Bin side cover - special rivet
Description
The MR2 Spyder storage bin (behind the seats) has a removable panel on each side. (Supposedly to allow a set of golf clubs to fit in the storage cubby.) Each panel has two special push-pin rivets that hold the panel in place. They are designed to stay with the panel, and designed to be removable using only your fingers. These special rivets are not available separately from Toyota - you must buy the whole panel to get them. (Note: Guys in UK and Europe have located the rivets separately on eBay. But they are not available on Ebay in USA). I worked pretty hard to design rivets that would work like the original ones, so I'm pretty proud of the final result. The push-pin is very tightly retained with the "collar" portion and they will not fall out or get lost. They require a hard push to assemble them.
